Our vision is an educated society. Our mission is to educate and train Kenyan women, children, and youth. We do this by providing resources and support.
Our primary focus is SCHOLARSHIPS for students at the secondary and post-secondary levels who need financial support.
We have a partner non-governmental organization in Kenya, Empower the World (ETW). They are a registered non-profit in Kenya. They identify deserving students and manage the scholarships. They also monitor each students progress, with mentoring and support. Sometimes they work with the families as well. Kenya Help’s role is to raise the funds and send them to ETW in Kenya.
Students who receive scholarships must demonstrate academic promise by scoring at least 2.8 on the KCPE Exam (the comprehensive exam that all students completing 8th grade in Kenya take) and financial need as demonstrated to Empower the World. Parents (if the students have them) are responsible for uniforms, bedding, pocket money, personal needs, and a small payment on school fees.
BUILDING ON PRIOR SUCCESS
Our current focus on scholarships follows two previous campaigns:
Both were major efforts, and both were quite successful. We gratefully thank the many Supporters who helped make these projects possible.
