Donation Details

How much to give?

Sponsor a High School Student: The cost of tuition, room and board for a high school student (girl or boy) for one year is approximately $800, which is about $65 per month - or $2.20 per day.

Sponsor a University Student: We currently support 11 university students, 3 of which are from Mji Wa Neema children’s home. The cost for university varies with the school and the major, ranging from $3,000 to $6,000 per year; that includes tuition, room and board, books, and misc expenses.

How much to give? You decide. We accept and appreciate donations in ANY AMOUNT.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

YES. All donations are tax-deductible. Kenya Help is a non-profit foundation with 501(c)(3) status. Our IRS EIN is 35-2314350.

Note: Kenya Help has no paid positions. Operating costs are approximately 5% of our budget. 95% of all donations go directly to those we serve.

Who handles the money?

Since the very beginning, we have been working in partnership with our "sister" Non-Governmental Organization, Empower the World. Kenya Help’s role is to raise the funds, and Empower The World's role is to identify deserving students and manage the scholarships.

Empower The World is led by our trusted friend and colleague, Father Kiriti.

Host a Fundraiser

If you'd like to host a Kenya Help fundraiser event, we'd love to help you do that. We can meet online (via Zoom) or in person (in the California/Bay Area). We have a great presentation, and talk about our need for funds, but we do NOT do a “hard sell.” If this is of interest, please contact us: KenyaHelpBoard@gmail.com

Kenyan artist Calestor Kizito has made a series of beautiful paintings to help raise money for Kenya Help. We also have a second card set made by a Kenyan artist who prefers to remain anonymous. You can order sets of 10 cards for $20.
