Dear Readers,
After the usual, nearly eternal, flight from SFO, a much appreciated over-night in Dubai, and a 5-hour flight to Nairobi, you can be sure I was happy to see Fr. Kiriti’s smiling face as I passed from customs. Because I bring lots of things, the customs inspector questioned the contents of my very large bags. I explained they were full of used books which were to be given to children in Naivasha and hand-knitted scarves for form 4 students at St Francis Girls (SFG), he passed me right on.
The ride from Nairobi was long, but it gave us a chance to catch up on all the news from either end. He asked about many of his good US friends and I asked about SFG, about many of my friends and how he was doing. Julia met us with a big smile and a hug and scurried off to bring the meal she had prepared for us.
This is all I am writing at the moment. I’m experiencing more jet lag than ever before and will shortly turn off my light and sleep. I just wanted you all to know I have arrived safely.
Best,
Margo
